Dr. Carmelo Scribano

Visiting Postdoc Researcher

About me:

I am Carmelo Scribano, visiting Post-doctoral researcher at INSAIT as of September 2024, working with Dr. Danda Pani Paudel and Prof. Luc Van Gool. My research goals at INSAIT involve artificial intelligence on low-power embedded devices, as part of the dAIEdge project. I am currently a post-doc at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy). I completed my PhD in mathematics at the University of Parma (in consortium with the University of Modena and the University of Ferrara), under the supervision of Prof. Marko Bertogna (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=ZRrTqs8AAAAJ&hl=it).

As of 2019, I am part of Professor Bertogna’s High-Performance Realtime (HiPeRT) Lab (https://hipert.unimore.it). Over the years, I have contributed to numerous European projects and industrial collaborations. My research interests in recent years include the reduction of the computational footprint of deep learning models and computer vision techniques adaptable to the automotive context.
