About me:

My name is Federico Marcuzzi. I am joining INSAIT as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Natural Language Processing, advised by Prof. Iryna Gurevych. Under Prof. Gurevych’s supervision, I am currently working on understanding the impact of Large Language Model compression strategies on different types of biases (i.e., social bias and political bias). My research interests span across Information Retrieval, Adversarial Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing.

I pursued my doctoral degree at Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia, under the supervision of Prof. Claudio Lucchese, where I focused on designing effective, efficient, and fair ranking algorithms, as well as robust machine learning models resilient to evasion attacks.

Education:

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science at Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science at Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia (Graduated with cum laude).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia.

Relevant Experience:

  • Visiting Doctoral Student at Universiteit van Amsterdam under the supervision of Andrew Yates – 2023.
  • Teaching Assistant Senior at Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia – Introduction to Programming – 2020 and 2022.
  • Teaching Assistant Senior at Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia – Programming and Laboratory – 2022 to 2024.
