INSAIT is bringing GAIA to ECCV 2026 – the 2nd Workshop on Geospatial AI and Foundation Models, bringing together researchers across vision, geospatial AI, space tech, Earth observation, and climate science.
The amount and diversity of geospatial data are growing at an unprecedented pace. At the same time, foundation models and generative AI are opening the door to a new generation of systems that can move beyond traditional remote sensing pipelines and towards AI that can understand, reason about, and interact with our planet at scale.
GAIA explores vision-language models for remote sensing, spatial reasoning with LLMs, multimodal fusion, cross-sensor and cross-resolution generalization, generative Earth simulation, and foundation models for extraterrestrial data, connecting Earth-scale intelligence with the emerging frontier of SpaceAI.
The workshop features invited talks from George Leifman (Google Research), Devis Tuia (EPFL), Felix Seidel (ETH Zürich), Fahad Khan (MBZUAI (Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence)), and Sara Beery (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), alongside oral paper presentations, posters, and more.
September 9 at ECCV 2026 in Malmö, Sweden.
Join us for an afternoon exploring how AI can help us understand Earth, and, eventually, worlds beyond it.
