INSAIT hosted Bulgaria’s National Informatics Team ahead of the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2026, take place next week in Uzbekistan!
The visit was organized at the invitation of Iliyan Yordanov, PhD student at INSAIT, core mentor of the Bulgarian National Team, and a member of the IOI International Committee. As part of the visit, INSAIT researchers working in algorithms and theoretical computer science delivered special lectures to the students, sharing their expertise and engaging with some of Bulgaria’s most promising young talents.
The Bulgarian team competing at IOI 2026 consists of:
Andrey Stefanov – participating in the national team for the third time. He is a two-time IOI silver medalist and has also won a gold and a silver medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).
Sava Delev – making his debut in the national team. In 2026, he won a gold medal at the International Zhautykov Olympiad (IZhO) and a silver medal at the Central European Olympiad in Informatics (CEOI).
Kiril Zulyamski – joining the national team for the first time after two appearances in the junior team. His international achievements include medals from EJOI, JBOI, IZhO and CEOI, as well as top results in prestigious international mathematics competitions, including JBMO, EMO and BMO.
Alexander Pendov – representing Bulgaria at IOI for the first time. As an 8th grader, he was part of the Bulgarian junior national team and won a bronze medal at EJOI.
