INSAIT signed a collaboration agreement with the largest research institution in Japan
Bulgaria and Japan are launching joint research projects in the field of artificial intelligence. A Memorandum of Understanding for Research Collaboration was signed between INSAIT, part of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and RIKEN – the largest research institution in Japan. The official signing took place today in Sofia during the special visit of Prof. Masashi Sugiyama, full professor at the University of Tokyo and director of the artificial intelligence center at RIKEN.
It is worth mentioning that this is also the first agreement between Bulgaria and Japan in the field of artificial intelligence. It envisages both joint work on specific projects, general research, and research exchanges. The MoU will cover major areas of artificial intelligence such as robotics, machine learning, computer vision, and more.
Today, the two scientific institutions are also organizing a joint workshop at INSAIT in Sofia, where scientists from both sides will present their latest research.
