Today, INSAIT welcomed the Italian Ambassador to Bulgaria and representatives of the European Space Agency (ESA).
H.E. Marcello Apicella, Ambassador of Italy to Bulgaria, accompanied by Deputy Head of Mission Edoardo Di Paolo, and Dr. Tommaso Ghidini, Head of the ESA Mechanical Department, visited INSAIT and met with the institute’s Executive Director, Borislav Petrov, as well as researchers working on Space AI and AI for Earth observation.
During the visit, the delegation learned about INSAIT’s latest research in foundation AI models and AI for Earth observation—strategic technologies that are key to strengthening Europe’s technological sovereignty.
The discussions also laid the groundwork for closer collaboration between ESA and INSAIT in the field of Space AI.
