Historic achievement for a Bulgarian university student!
Congratulations to Aleksandar Yanev, who became the first Bulgarian university student in history to co-author a paper accepted at CVPR, the world’s leading computer vision conference, which took place in Denver, USA, this year.
Alex is a third-year student at Sofia University and part of Explorer, INSAIT’s special four-year undergraduate program designed to develop exceptional Bulgarian AI talent.
As a high school student, he earned medals at some of the most prestigious international programming competitions, including the Romanian Masters of Informatics and the International Zhautykov Olympiad.
At INSAIT, Alex works on the next generation of AI models for robotics. The paper he co-authored, SPEAR-1, which was featured by WIRED, represents an important breakthrough in this direction.
