We are excited to welcome Daniel Korth as a new Ph.D. student at INSAIT, where he will be working on Physical AI – AI for robotics!
Daniel holds a B.Sc. in Information Systems and an M.Sc. in Data Engineering and Analytics from the Technical University of Munich (TUM), where he graduated amongst the top students in his batch. He also completed an exchange semester at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
His research experience includes internships and fellowships at ETH Zürich, the University of Cambridge and KAIST, where he worked on topics across computer vision, computer graphics, 3D reconstruction and machine learning.
In 2025, Daniel was selected for the ETH summer research fellowship, with an acceptance rate of less than 1%.
He is also a co-author of research on certified and adversarially robust out-of-distribution detection, published at the 2023 IJCAI Workshop on AI Safety and Safe Reinforcement Learning.
Beyond research, Daniel has also been actively involved in mentoring students. At TUM, he mentored new students in the M.Sc. in Data Engineering and Analytics program and co-founded TUMVision, an initiative connecting students, researchers and industry around computer vision.
