About me:
I am AmirHossein, a research intern at INSAIT in the summer of 2024. My project at INSAIT is focused on reconstructing 3D scenes from a set of 2D images captured from different viewpoints of that scene.
Education:
Sharif University of Technology, Iran, Oct 2020 – Oct 2024 BSc. in Computer Engineering
Awards:
Ranked 99th among more than 150,000 students in university entrance exam, 2020
Relevant Experiences:
Research Assistant (Computer vision):
In my undergrad years, I experienced some different areas of study in computer vision. I worked with ViT models for semantic segmentation (specifically weakly supervised models). After that I entered the area of 3D computer vision and I experienced working with scene description models (like Scene Representation Transformer) used in robotics. I also did research in the subject of vision-based robotic manipulation. I am now working on the subject of 3D reconstruction using NeRF models and Gaussian Splatting.
AR Systems engineer, Tapsi Co:
As a part of my university’s co-op program, I worked as an AR systems engineer in Tapsi, a ride-hailing company like Uber, for 7 months. I was responsible for the computer vision tasks related to localizing the user, denoising the user’s location (blue dot) via camera input and matching with google maps data and also working with different frameworks for web-based client-side processing of machine learning models.
