We are delighted to host Dr. Bogdan Georgiev (Google DeepMind) as a visitor to INSAIT during which he also gave a captivating talk on AI for Mathematics, an active research area at INSAIT!
Bogdan’s recent work includes a highly regarded paper co-authored with Terence Tao and colleagues, exploring how AI can be used for mathematical exploration and discovery at scale.
Before joining DeepMind, Bogdan was a Research Scientist at the Fraunhofer Institute IAIS and the ML2R/Lamarr Institute. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn and the The University of Bonn, and previously studied Mathematics and Computer Science at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski and the Sofia High School of Mathematics.
His research interests span AI and mathematics, partial differential equations, spectral geometry, geometric and harmonic analysis, computing at scale and high-precision numerics, as well as generalization and training dynamics in machine learning.
