INSAIT EXPLORER Scholar Maria Drencheva Selected for Prestigious Bending Spoons Scholarship

Another international recognition for INSAIT EXPLORER scholar Maria Drencheva!

Maria, a scholar in INSAIT’s EXPLORER 4-year undergraduate program, has been selected as one of just 20 recipients across Europe of the prestigious Women in Computer Science Scholarship by Bending Spoons! Over 3,000 applicants competed for the scholarships this year.

Bending Spoons is a technology powerhouse valued at over $25 billion, with a portfolio of globally recognized platforms including Vimeo, Evernote, WeTransfer, AOL, and Eventbrite.

As part of the scholarship program, Maria joined this year’s fellow recipients at a special event in Milan over the weekend.

Maria’s achievement is a powerful example of what EXPLORER is designed to make possible: giving exceptional young talent in Bulgaria access to strong education, world-class research experience, and career opportunities without having to leave the country.

Congratulations, Maria and congratulations to all recipients!
