About me:
I am a doctoral researcher at INSAIT, where I’m supervised by Prof. David Basin. I’m interested in formal methods for modeling systems and verifying software implementations, in order to give stronger security and safety guarantees to at-risk users such as whistleblowers, journalists, and activists. I’m also interested in the epistemological and social construction of these guarantees: what they mean and how they’re understood by the people they’re meant to serve.
I studied philosophy at Deep Springs College and Yale College before becoming a public-interest technologist. Most recently I was a software engineer at the Freedom of the Press Foundation, during which time I was an Internet of Rights Fellow with ARTICLE 19 and completed a master’s degree in computer science at the University of Washington.
