The Ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria, Velislava Delcheva, and the Executive Director of INSAIT, Borislav Petrov discussed the possible regulations and the growing integration of AI into all areas of public areas during a meeting held at the Ombudsman’s office in Sofia.

Borislav Petrov presented the capabilities of the first Bulgarian LLM BgGPT as well as the progress of its adoption in Bulgarian institutions, including the National Revenue Agency (Bulgaria), the Bulgarian National Audit Office, and others.

Both agreed that AI brings enormous opportunities, but also requires active efforts to protect citizens’ rights and mitigate the risks associated with its widespread adoption — an area in which the Ombudsman’s institution and INSAIT will work closely together.
