INSAIT Hosts Exclusive VIP Roundtable on Bridging the Gap in AI Compliance at Davos 2025
INSAIT is proud to announce its participation in the upcoming VIP Roundtable Discussion: Bridging the Gap in the EU AI Act – From High-Level AI Principles to Technical Compliance. This prestigious event will take place at the AI House in Davos on January 21, 2025, and is set to convene an elite group of global experts from academia, industry, and regulatory organizations. Held on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, the discussion aims to tackle the critical challenges of aligning cutting-edge AI technology with emerging regulatory standards under the EU AI Act.
The EU AI Act represents a groundbreaking milestone in AI governance, establishing comprehensive requirements to ensure that AI systems are trustworthy, safe, and compliant. However, translating these high-level regulatory principles into practical and technical steps presents significant hurdles for organizations, particularly those working with high-risk AI applications. This roundtable will address these challenges by fostering a dialogue between thought leaders and practitioners, identifying solutions to bridge the gap between regulatory mandates and technical compliance.
Moderated by Prof. Andreas Krause, Full Professor at ETH Zurich and Director of the ETH AI Center, the session will feature a distinguished panel of confirmed speakers, including Prof. Dawn Song (UC Berkeley), Prof. Martin Vechev (ETH Zurich and INSAIT), Dr. Peter Mattson (MLCommons), Dr. Petar Tsankov (LatticeFlow AI), Dr. Matthias Bossardt (KPMG), and Angela Carpintieri (Julius Bär).
A central theme of the roundtable will be exploring how organizations can integrate emerging technical frameworks, such as COMPL-AI, into their governance processes. Recent advancements like COMPL-AI have introduced methodologies for evaluating compliance of complex AI systems, including large language models, under the EU AI Act. By examining these tools, participants will gain valuable insights into how businesses can navigate regulatory landscapes while fostering innovation and maintaining competitive advantage.
The discussion will also delve into pressing topics such as the security vulnerabilities, safety risks, and biases inherent in current AI systems. With the EU AI Act mandating compliance for high-risk AI applications, the session will focus on equipping decision-makers with actionable strategies and best practices for developing reliable, compliant AI systems. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of how to align their AI systems with the Act’s requirements while building trust, enhancing safety, and driving business value.
This exclusive roundtable discussion promises to be a pivotal moment for advancing AI governance and innovation. As the intersection of policy and technology continues to evolve, the insights and strategies shared during this session will play a crucial role in shaping the future of AI compliance and trustworthiness.
