Dr. Yuqian Fu

Researcher Scientist

I am currently a research scientist at INSAIT, Sofia, Bulgaria, working with Prof. Luc Van Gool and Dr. Danda Paudel. Previously, I was a postdoc researcher at Computer Vision Lab (CVL), ETH Zürich, Switzerland, where I was also fortunate to be mentored by Prof. Luc Van Gool. I received my Ph.D. degree from the School of Computer Science, Fudan University, China, in June 2023.  Before that, I received my bachelor’s degree in computer science from Zhejiang University of Technology, China, in June 2018.

My research interests lie in computer vision and deep learning. Recently, I have been particularly interested in egocentric vision learning, which aims to understand the world from a first-person perspective. This line of work holds great potential for advancing intelligent wearable devices, embodied AI, and robotic applications. I currently lead the Egocentric Vision Group at INSAIT, supported by a research grant from Google.

In addition, I am broadly interested in building more generalizable vision models and tackling challenges that arise when adapting them to downstream tasks, including few-shot learning, cross-domain learning, open-vocabulary learning, and multimodal fusion.
